There are no standard visiting times in the intensive care unit (IC). You are welcome all day long. To ensure privacy, rest and good care for the patients in the intensive care, we ask you to pay attention to the following agreements:
- Patients may receive a maximum of 2 visitors at a time. You can't come with several visitors at the same time and then switch. This is often too tiring for patients.
- Examination and treatment. Examinations and treatments take place all day long. We may ask you to leave the room. You can wait in the family room.
- Rest. Rest is very important for patients in intensive care. The ICU nurse takes care of the patient and monitors the rest. The ICU nurse may therefore ask you to visit for a short time or less often.
- Privacy. The privacy of the patient and other patients is very important. In connection with privacy, you may be asked to leave the room. This may be related to care that must be provided, examinations, treatments or patient transfer when changing shifts.
- Information. We only give information about how the patient is doing to the contact person.
- Children. Children are also allowed to visit the intensive care unit. Do you want to come with children? Please discuss this with the nurse.
- Insulation treatment. Visitors of patients who are being treated in isolation due to the risk of infection are not allowed to use the family room. They must leave the hospital immediately after the visit of their loved one. This in connection with the other vulnerable patient group on the department.
