The nursing department
The Spaarne Gasthuis hospital has mixed nursing departments where both men and women are nursed in one room. There are no specific class sections or rooms. Of course, the hospital will make sure you have enough privacy. Around your hospital bed we offer several facilities you can use.
Mobile phone
You can use your mobile phone, unless there is electronic surveillance equipment in the area present. Please note that (loud) phone conversations can be disruptive to others. No phone calls are allowed after 21.30 hrs.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the hospital. If you wish, you can smoke outside. You will find the smoking shelters outside.
Meals
During your stay you will eat three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can choose your own meal by filling in the list that you will find in the cabinet next to your bed. For breakfast and lunch, you can use the bread buffet car that visits the nursing department.
